My Wifes Story - July

This month so far has been good. Finished school now for the summer had a really busy last week coupled with trains not working properly and many being cancelled which meant a very long bus journey one evening. Taking almost two hours to travel 18 miles really is a joke.

It was hot and very tiresome.  Now for the summer, my partners and my relationship really seems to be going from strength to strength although misunderstanding still occur, this seems to be mainly about food, or what goes on in the kitchen. Usually due to, mis-communication.

We are going away next week a time for both us to reconnect and get to know each other again. It will be nice to have some time just the 2 of us as our daughter goes to her grandparents for a few days.

Over the past 2 months I have discovered more about myself and my own sexuality than I have ever known.

Have I always been Lesbian? I guess the truth is yes or at least bi -sexual. I have discovered things about me that I never knew or if I did, kept hidden under the carpet.

All I know is that I am proud of whom I am, and proud of my wife who means so much to me and always will. I will always love her and we will stay together forever. The love I feel is so strong that nothing can break this.

This is who I am and what you see is the true me.

Holiday

I guess the thought of going away is exciting but also nerve racking as I didn’t really know what we were going to do or what was expected, this as the first time I had been into the gay "community" and wasn’t really sure how to behave or how we were going to be received.

The hotel was pleasant and the room lovely, although small to what we are used to. We got down to the hotel from home in about 2 and a half hours so not too bad a journey.

Our first night we spent going to La Tasca after a walk around the city, we stopped via a pub on the way back and had a pleasant afternoon drink needing to sit down.

La Tasca was lovely but we ate far too much and couldn’t finish the last of the Tapas dishes, but did manage the Cava Sangria. We then headed back to the night club scene. We eventually found a club right on the sea front.  This was a very lively gay bar and it was full of different age groups although the quieter area upstairs was mainly young girls in their late teens and early twenties.

What has most noticeable was the way that most lesbians had tried to deny any feminine side that they have whereas the gay men were trying to emphasise their feminine side.

The thing that I noticed was that the women in the club were young and we did stand out a bit not for who we were but we were probably in the older age group there.

Tuesday we went to meet a friend who we had spoken to on several occasions but never met before. The journey down was busy and we eventually found her flat.

After spending an hour or so there chatting and 3 cups of tea later we headed down to the beach. This is when the Rain started and wow did it rain.

Lunch was chocolate cake and a cup of tea. We then headed to the outlet shopping mall where we spent far too much money on things that all women buy, clothes and chocolate.

We had a lovely day and then headed back to our hotel, we were late back so we headed to the hotel so my partner could do her post op care before we hit the town again.

We decided to walk into town calling by a few pubs to see if there was any where we could get food. We were unlucky so ended up at BK in my opinion probably one of the worst I had been in. I am not a great lover of fast food burgers but this as not the best I had tasted.

After our ‘dinner’ we headed to a Pub which is known for their good gay, lesbian hospitality and we were welcomed , not very busy but we spent a pleasant 2 hours in there.

Wednesday

Today we spent a lovely day walking, talking and shopping.

It was lovely to have the time to ourselves without a little girl moaning about going into shops. She has not quite reached the age of appreciating the finer things of life like clothes shopping yet.

After a quick Thai meal in a good restaurant we headed back to the hotel to get ready to head to the pubs..

We got to the pub and sat down. A group near to us made us feel very welcome and were trying to persuade us to move there most of the evening. We had a brilliant time and made plenty of conversation with everyone in the pub. I enjoyed the comfort of being in a friendly environment where we were able to show love and affection towards each other without the stares that sometimes come our way when we are together.  I t is a very accepting place and everyone accepts you for who you are.

Thursday

We left for home after a healthy breakfast of egg, bacon, sausage mushrooms toast etc. We first went to the local ethnic supermarket and stocked up on things we cannot get at home.
