Unfortunately, not all people are accepting of LGBT people. This does mean that we need additional legal protection. Some of this protection does feel innapropriate, however, until we are fully accepted, then there wil need to be additional legal protection.

There is no excuse for discrimination against any group of people. But also, there are times when people treat us inappropriately as a result of our sexuality. If there is a criminal act involved, then this could be a Hate Crime, otherwise, it is likely to be a Hate Incident
 
 
 

Equality
Much legislation has already been introduced to provide equality protection, however, more is needed. A new Equality Bill is currently going through parliament..

Hate Crimes and Incidents
"Any incident, which may or may not constitute a criminal offence, which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by prejudice or hate."

Equality
Will there ever be true equality? We are not even allowed to get married, but need to have a Civil Partnership - equal but different.
